ABOUT KATO

Kato Alexander is a Toronto Ontario based filmmaker who created and stars in the short film "Happy.” He is a multidisciplinary artist; actor, writer, director, and producer. He is the recipient of the 2023 Canada Council for the Arts' Concept to Realization grant which helped launch this project into production. As a screenwriter Kato infuses his storytelling with authenticity and innovation, he strives to pave the way for greater inclusivity and representation in cinema.

As an actor Kato has over a decade of on-camera experience working in the various mediums of Film/TV, voice over, and motion capture. He is a Second City Improv (Toronto) Graduate from the IFA program. He’s performed on critically acclaimed shows playing the role of Flavio in “Sort of” (HBO MAX), Jianguo in “The Expanse” (Amazon Prime), and Christian in “EZRA” (OutTV). Kato’s voice and likeness are used to create the lead character in a highly anticipated undisclosed Triple-A video game set to release in 2024.
